New Release: Version 0.91 Icons & Icons

I am excited to release HTML KickStart Version 0.91 Today! This release includes a lot of fixes and changes to HTML KickStart and a few features too, but the best part about this update is ICONS! HTML KickStart Version 0.91 includes over 140 ICONS/Glyphs. Icons from IcoMoon. These are more than just icons, it's a font! What does that mean? Unlimited Flexibility. No more creating icons in your favorite graphic editor (cough... photoshop.. cough). No more creating icons in different sizes. You can color your icons any color you want with CSS. You can change the size of your icons with just CSS. I can't tell you how excited I am about this. You want Icons Where? You can add icons to anything, anywhere you can add text! Go ahead and take a look at the elements page and try them out. I have configured some base colors and sizes for you, but there is nothing stopping you from making them however you want.

HTML KickStart Joins the World

Introducing HTML KickStartHTML KickStart is an HTML + CSS + JS (jQuery) frontend framework/templates/skeleton to help web designers and developers create high–quality, clean, and lean templates and web designs faster. HTML KickStart comes loaded with a bunch of elements: slideshows, suckerfish style menus, css buttons, form styles, typography basics, and more, so that with a little customization you can create a full featured web site layout in a fraction of the time it normally takes to design, create, code, and debug common user interface elements. Fast & Clean HTMLHTML KickStart is dedicated to clean HTML. Add full featured, cross browser, standards compliant, accessable dropdown menus to your website by adding class="menu" to any unordered list with anchor tags inside it. Simple, fast, clean.
Iconic Icon Set

You may have noticed that HTML KickStart includes a few icons. The icons included with HTML KickStart are part of a larger set of well crafted icons called ICONIC ICONS. You can download the full set in multiple colors and formats from http://somerandomdude.com/work/iconic/.Iconic is an open source icon set consisting of 171 marks in raster, vector and font formats...An open source icon set that’s a lot more than just iconsIconic aims to be the most forward-thinking icon set around based on its support of forward facing display/deployment methods.
HTML KickStart & Responsive Design

I am getting a lot of feedback and it looks as though you guys really like responsive design. As many of you know, HTML KickStart is not responsive. I have a couple of arguments for and against responsive design. Let's talk about it. Why HTML KickStart 0.9 is Currently NOT ResponsiveKeep it SimpleThe main reason that HTML KickStart is not responsive is that I wanted to keep it simple in the beginning. Responsive design takes a lot of consideration and work. I wanted people to be able to download HTML KickStart and build website layouts really fast. Responsive design is not fast. It can get very complicated and building a good responsive website can be as much work as building 2, 3, or even 4 additional website layouts. Of course the idea behind responsive boilerplates and grid systems is to help save you time building responsive layouts.

Learn How To Rock Your Templates with HTML KickStart Columns

Fun with ColumnsHTML KickStart has totally streamlined the process of building columns into your template. This solves the problems surrounding widths and dealing with padding. It also saves you the time you'd normally spend fiddling with floats and adding containers. How Columns Work in HTML KickStartColumns are sized from a scale of 1 to 12, using the built in css classes .col_1 to .col_12. When adding columns, note that the columns have to add up to 12 in order to float properly. So for example, if you're building a three column template, you could use the classes col_4, col_3 and col_5. You can choose what size your columns are, which order they are in and how many(as long as there's no more than 12).Let's take a look at some examples of HTML Kickstart columns and how they can be used in your project:Example 1: Two columnsIn this example,
